Fresco as a daisy

You’ve probably heard of Adobe, they do the PDF’s. If you’re a bit more savvy they make Photoshop, which most people have heard of. Photoshop is awesome - for a arty/tech/geek like me it’s like being stuck in a sweet shop. Photo2shop IS expensive - however the most expensive part is the cost to your credibility if you suggest to a designer that alternatives are almost as good. There’s some snobbery out there! Hate to admit to some of these guys that I designed an entire brand for a multi-million pound business on PaintShop Pro: about 10% of the cost but with about 90% of the functionality of Photoshop. But at the end of the day, we all want to drive the best car.

Anyway, as I’m a convert to the Ipad Pro, I’m getting used to the IPad versions of Photoshop and the drawing App, Fresco. Both of which I’m loving.

It’s a different discipline, drawing digitally. You can allow yourself to make more mistakes, which allows you to experiment more. If it goes wrong, you press “undo” Instead of screwing up another sheet of expensive cartridge. Less discipline, I suppose.

So here’s a picture of our dog, using digital pencil on fresco (using pencil, sketching, pixel brush). Etta comes from Romania, is overweight, has a tattoo and is very affectionate. Which sounds like the start of a joke.
